Tracker System Starts Operation at Beijing Olympic Coliseum

This unique Grid Connected PV Tracker System starts operation at the Beijing Olympic Beach Volleyball Coliseum on the 5 th of August 2007.

The tracker system was developed by ET Solar, China and OPDE, one of the most respected PV system manufacturers in Spain. The system, which has a length of 11m, and a width of 7m, is located on the Northeast side of the Olympic Beach Volleyball Coliseum. The most impressive characteristic is the dual axis rotation. It allows the solar module to rotate 270¡ã following the movement of the sun, therefore increasing the production of photovoltaic solar energy by more than 35% as compared to fixed installations.

In a statement issued on the 6th of August 2007, Mr. She, Vice President of ET Solar announced: ¡°This system will generate 11kw per hour. On average it will supply more than 50,000kwh of power for the Olympic Coliseum for the whole year and continue providing energy for the next 25 years consecutively."
